NABB members meeting Further the meeting of NABB members - the National Alliance of Burmese Breeders, under the chairmanship of Erika Graf-Webster has taken place. The meeting has begun with Award of the best 10 Burmese Kittens, 10 Best Premiors and 10 Best CATS in CFA show season 2010-2011. We congratulate all Russian breeders with their great results, the participants of BURMESE INFO! Meeting of Burmese Breed Council Within the limits of NABB members the meeting of Burmese Breed Council under the chairmanship of the secretary Art Graafmans has been held (Art Graafmans; De Bears cattery). The statistics testifying the reduction of Burmese cats livestock has been presented, a consequence of that is the decrease in quantity of registered in CFA animals. The special attention has been given to Burmese GENETICS and HEALTH questions. Doctor Lesly Layonce gave a report — the known geneticist, official geneticist of CFA and TICA. She is engaged in cats population genetics, in her laboratory tests on PKD, HCM, CPC and many other things have been created. Also she is engaged in researches in breed forming area, comparisons of groups of cat breeds.
The Burmese cat – the descendant of a native cat Mo Deng brought from Thailand last year has been shown to the participants of the meeting.
The cat is tested on genetic cleanliness, is recognized in CFA and has a CFA registration. Officially approved outcross for expansion of a genetic pool and improvement of the Burmese breed is the big achievement of the American breeders! Breeders have unanimously supported the use of the cat in their breeding programs. The editor of UBCF magazine Nancy Reevs is ready to give us any materials on this point of the question. Meeting of European Burmese breeders Also the meeting of European Burmese breeders took place under the chairmanship of Robin Bryan, Chamsey cattery.
We have joined the congratulations to the winners of the last season! At the meeting the health problems (diseases, genetics, etc.), import of various lines were discussed.
It was unexpected to hear the open discussion of the breeders of existing health problems in certain countries and catteries as in our region it is not accepted to share the similar information. It was interesting to hear the opinion of the leading breeders on construction of the breeding work, a combination of various lines, plans for the future, etc. We have held the presentation of the Burmese portal BURMESE INFO and also have received positive responses and hot consent to cooperate.
It is necessary to notice that the American colleagues looked through the photo of the animals presented on a portal with a great interest, asked questions on lines,colour features, construction of breeding programs, etc. 2011 CFA Award Banquet At the end of the congress the festive banquet A Capital Celebration with awarding of all winners 2010-2011 has taken place with the party following! The most important event for all breeders!
